About the Artist

I am a self-proclaimed multi-talented artist interested in every available medium. My favored medium is graphite (pencil) and ink. I also enjoy painting in both acrylic and oil mediums (as well as watercolor). I use art not only as a way to express myself, but a way to bring everything I love (and don't) together into one place and into a tangible object. I enjoy sharing my artwork with other people and gauging their reactions to my pieces. There is a sense of content I get from asking someone what they personally see in one of my pieces without telling them my own meaning behind it.

I have worked mainly in the past few years on joint projects such as a three part three issue comic book series titled "Versus." The book was self-published by myself on LuLu.com and IndyPlanet.com. I have also worked on solo graphic novels, such as my digital comic "A Way to the Stars" which is available as a printed 144 trade paperback off of Amazon.com, LuLu.com, IndyPlanet.com, and ComicsMonkey.com, as well as "Aftermath" and my solo digital portfolio "On A Wire." I have also helped in publishing and have been featured in other books, such as Sheri Nicole Karstok's "Anthology of Lost Memoirs" and "Harbingers of Innocence" and have also co-created books, such as "Friends, Foes, & Lovers" with Matt the Smigiel. I also write, and am in the process of finishing up a novel, and also have a short story available from LuLu.com titled "The Dark Heart." I am currently working on a new graphic novel titled "Don't Know Jack."

I have also attended or had my art attend many events such as various Comic Conventions, personal gallery exhibits at clubs, gallery exhibits (End of the year exhibit, continuing education exhibit, figure drawing exhibit, Love, Lust, & Desire, please view resume for details), and even an Anime Convention. I have sold and given away many works if only for the joy of knowing it is hanging in someone's home and they view it every day.

I also like participating in zines and magazines, and have been featured in Project Exposure magazine, as well as Zaum. I have also been published on websites such as The Absent Willow Review and Larry's Comic Couch.

I also create design pieces for commercial work, such as business cards, logos, watermarks, websites, promotional flyers, and promotional posters. I have done a lot of touch-ups and retouching/airbrushing for photo shoots for promotional and commercial use. I have also colored paged, covers, and pin-ups for other graphic novels or compilations.

I am currently attending the New Hampshire Institute of Art as a Bachelor of Fine Arts illustration major. I am currently a junior and intend to finish out my degree if I do not get my foot in the door first. I graduated from Campbell High School in 2005. Upon graduating, I'd really love to be able to jump into a job at either a big-shot comic book publishing firm such as Marvel or DC, or even a smaller one... However, optimally, I'd love to start my own indy publishing company, and have begun to string together odds and ends of my work to start it, for which I call it "9mm Studios" or "9mm Comics."
